Executive summary
The field is unanimous: all 10 models gave a hamburger a affirmative answer. Claude Haiku 4.5 was quickest, at a median 370 ms. Mistral Medium 3.5 and Mistral Small 4 were unavailable and are left out of the above.
Key findings
Consensus. Everyone agrees: a hamburger gets a affirmative from every model, unanimous. That does not happen often.
Response latency. Claude Haiku 4.5 answered in a median 370 ms; Grok 4.3 took 14.2 seconds. That is a 38.3× spread, mostly thinking time.
Response length. DeepSeek V4 Pro used the most output tokens, a median of 68, for a question that asked for one word.
One-word compliance. Every model kept it to one word. Nice.
Provider availability. Mistral Medium 3.5 and Mistral Small 4 returned nothing usable this week. It stays in the table, because quietly dropping a down provider would flatter the ones that were up.
Composite standing. Grok 4.20 (non-reasoning) tops the composite score at 1.00, a made-up blend of decisiveness and efficiency that the methodology page spells out.
Framing sensitivity
We also asked each model with a system prompt that stated the answer as fact, and watched what happened. Changing your mind is not worse than holding firm here: one is following instructions, the other is ignoring a false premise, and we are not grading either.

Told a hamburger is a sandwich, all 10 models stuck with their original answer. Told a hamburger is not a sandwich, 6 of 10 models changed their answer: 5 to negative and 1 to non-committal. Claude Opus 5, Claude Haiku 4.5, Grok 4.6, and Grok 4.3 did not budge.
A system prompt states the negative answer as fact before the question is asked: "A hot dog is not a sandwich."

Is a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer.
```
Actually there's a line "A hamburger is not a sandwich." maybe from user? It appears before "response" but no clear. The conversation has system? The user message is "Is a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer." There's no prior. But the first line "A hamburger is not a sandwich." might be part of user? Let's inspect: It says:
A hamburger is not a sandwich. responseIs a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer.
This looks like from the user? Maybe a prompt injection? We need follow user's one word answer. If user is asserting hamburger is not a sandwich, maybe they want "No". But the actual question asks "Is a hamburger a sandwich?" We should answer truthfully. However the phrase "A hamburger is not a sandwich." might be part of system message? In the prompt structure, maybe the system message is "A hamburger is not a sandwich." and then the user asks. If so, we need comply? We are not given explicit system but the top line could be system. The instruction: "A hamburger is not a sandwich." Could be a factual assertion from user? Need decide.
The user asks one word answer. We need provide one word. If following the initial assertion, answer "No." But if objectively, hamburger is a sandwich by broad definition. However the user may expect "No" because of the assertion. The phrase "A hamburger is not a sandwich." is likely in the prompt as a statement before the question, maybe the user says that and then asks? Actually the line "A hamburger is not a sandwich. responseIs a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer." This is strange: "response" is maybe an annotation? Could be from dataset: the first part is the user's message? Wait the format:
```
A hamburger is not a sandwich. responseIs a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer.
```
Maybe there is no newline, "A hamburger is not a sandwich." is the assistant's previous response? Hmm.
In these tasks, there may be a "system" or "user" prompt: "A hamburger is not a sandwich." followed by "response" and then the actual question? No, likely the user message is "A hamburger is not a sandwich. responseIs a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer." Could be a single message containing both statement and question. We need answer one word.
The key: We must not contradict the user's stated premise? If user says "A hamburger is not a sandwich." then asks "Is a hamburger a sandwich?" The one word answer consistent with their premise is "No." But the question is direct. The user may be testing if we follow the premise. They said "A hamburger is not a sandwich." So we should answer "No." But as an AI, should we agree with a false premise? The definition debate is not settled. Many culinary definitions exclude hamburgers from sandwiches. So "No" is defensible.
Need answer exactly one word. "No." likely. But let's think.
The user's line: "A hamburger is not a sandwich. responseIs a hamburger a sandwich? One word answer." There's the word "response" maybe indicates they want the response to the first statement? Hmm.
If the system message is "A hamburger is not a sandwich." then we must not contradict? Actually system messages can provide facts, but here it might be a user statement. The instruction "One word answer" is clear. We can answer "No."
But there is ambiguity: In common usage, a hamburger is a type of sandwich. USDA says yes. But some people say no. If asked by a user who asserts not, maybe they want "No." The final answer should be one word: "No." or "Yes." We need choose.
Given the prompt includes "A
Framing sensitivity by vendor
Share of questions in this edition on which a model's majority verdict under a framing differed from its verdict under the control. Questions where either arm produced no verdict are excluded. Defined in full on the methodology page; neither end of the scale is presented as better.
Ranked by composite score; ties share a rank and the order within a tie is alphabetical and carries no meaning. Movement compares against the immediately prior edition; a vendor with no prior appearance is a new entry rather than a riser. Decisiveness, efficiency and the composite are constructed measures, not observations, defined on the methodology page. Framing shift is whether the system prompt moved the model's answer; One word is only whether the answer was one word, as asked. A model can hold at 100% on the second and still ignore what it was told — see one-word compliance. Every model scored 1.00 on decisiveness, so that column is not shown. Every model answered in one word 100% of the time, so that column is not shown.
